“The James Joyce Ballet” – When Literature Becomes Dance
This dance-theatre production by the New York-based company Danse Lumière, founded in 1995 by choreographer Kathryn Roszak, is inspired by Joyce’s masterpieces Ulysses, Finnegans Wake, and the short story The Dead. Through movement and atmosphere, it explores not only Joyce’s literary legacy but also the lives of those closest to him, including his wife Nora Barnacle and daughter Lucia Joyce. Renowned for its stage adaptations of great literary works, the company will bring the rhythms, wit, and emotional depth of Joyce’s writing to Pula audiences through a unique fusion of dance, music, and theatre in a performance not to be missed.
