Days of Antiquity 2025

Days of Antiquity in Pula will take place over three consecutive weekends this year: May 23–24, May 30–31, and June 6–7, 2025, at the city’s iconic historical locations – Forum Square and Portarata. During this event, the city transforms into a living backdrop of the glorious Roman Empire, bringing its rich ancient past to life through parades, performances, and a traditional crafts fair.

Every Friday afternoon at 6:00 PM, a ceremonial parade of participants sets off from the Arena, passing through Kandler Street to the Forum and Portarata. At the Forum, visitors are transported back to ancient times through the program “Where the Past Becomes an Experience,” where they can meet Romans, legionnaires, and gladiators, and enjoy music, dancing, and the scents of bygone eras.

A special highlight is the ancient Roman wedding, which reenacts a love ceremony from Roman times. At the same time, Portarata hosts a Roman village featuring demonstrations of Roman crafts, a gladiator and legionnaire camp, Roman-themed entertainment, and an exciting gladiator training session.

On Saturday mornings from 10:00 AM, the Forum becomes a family-friendly gathering place with photo spots, Roman-themed board games, stories about legionnaires, children’s workshops, tastings of ancient delicacies, and wine workshops. Portarata also offers craft demonstrations, ancient games for children, and a gladiator camp. In the evening, the Forum once again comes alive with the “Pula Revives Antiquity” program, where wine, dancing, and music recreate the festive atmosphere of an ancient celebration.

On the final day of the event, June 7, the program will take place at Portarata, where a grand gladiator parade will begin, moving through the Forum and Kandler Street to the Arena.

Inside the renowned Arena, a spectacular gladiator fight will be held, offering visitors an authentic experience of life and combat in ancient times.

Days of Antiquity in Pula blend rich cultural heritage with interactive experiences for all generations, making the city an unmissable destination for lovers of history, culture, and unforgettable experiences.
