Excursions to Mali Brijun in September and October 2025

The second-largest island of the Brijuni archipelago, Mali Brijun covers 108.85 hectares and hides a coastline stretching over 8 kilometres. The island is best known for the impressive Fort Brioni Minor, the largest fortification along the entire Adriatic coast. But beyond its history, Mali Brijun is a true natural oasis – dense maquis, stone paths, and unique views.

Excursions to Mali Brijun are organized on weekends during September and October.

Departure from Fažana: 9:30 AM
Return from Mali Brijun: 2:15 PM

Walk and Talk Mali Brijun is an educational programme that introduces the island’s diversity. The tour includes Fort Brioni Minor – the most striking among the many preserved Austro-Hungarian military defence structures – and the educational trail “Brijuni Stone Stories”, created as part of the Stone-Bridge project.

Departure is from Fažana port, with limited availability to ensure nature preservation and quality of experience.

The excursion includes:

  • Boat ride from Fažana to Mali Brijun
  • Guided tour of Fort Brioni Minor
  • Guided walk along the “Brijuni Stone Stories” trail
  • Free time to walk and enjoy nature
