6th Pula Marathon

One of the most beautiful sports events in Croatia is certainly the Pula Marathon, which attracts thousands of runners from all over the country and the world every year in autumn. Be it the atmosphere or the excellent organization, Pula has already become a distinctive member of the group of cities that have their own race. Starting in front of the magnificent Pula Arena and finishing within it, this event combines the necessary sporting excitement with an incredible cultural promotion among athletes and recreationists of all ages. Within the two-day event of the Pula Marathon, there will also be races for children ranging from the ages of three and four up to the fifth or sixth grade, also starting in front of the Arena. On the eve of the second day, the final event takes place, a big race for adults in categories of 5, 10 and 21 kilometres. The course runs through the three-thousand-year-old city, along its cultural beauties all the way to the finish line in the heart of the amphitheatre, with a big final party, which makes this event unforgettable for all participants. This year, the Pula Marathon marks its sixth edition, which clearly proves that the race has been recognized as a valuable event and that it has been growing and that in the future there will be more and more runners who will want to be part of the great running community that Pula has created.

And to make this event even more special, the organizers made sure that the program included a unique light festival, the well-known Visualia, where new technologies and achievements of audio-visual art are presented over the course of several days. Through special light installations placed in different locations in the city centre, all passers-by can experience the magic created by light and enjoy the art and beauty of numerous installations. Some of them, such as the illuminated cranes at the entrance to the Pula harbour, have already permanently branded Pula as the “city of lights”, but every year there are new and exciting things to see. When such an atmosphere is combined with the unforgettable experience of running through Pula, you get an event that you don’t want to miss.
